JEDI Virtual School

As of 2019, Luxemburg-Casco School District now participates as a member of the JEDI Virtual School consortium.

JEDI Virtual School is a not-for-profit charter school that works collaboratively with districts to provide a variety of learning opportunities to elementary, middle and high school students. The system is a consortium of school districts, and all are overseen by their superintendents who serve as the Board of Directors. Participating districts include: Beloit Turner, Burlington, Evansville, Fort Atkinson, Jefferson, Lake Mills, Luxemburg-Casco, Marshall, Mauston, Milton, Stoughton, Sun Prairie, and Waterloo. The chartering district is Lake Mills Area School District. Students who are residents of the consortium districts graduate with a diploma from their home district, while open-enrolled students graduate with a diploma from the chartering district.

Offering its first distance education class during the 1996–1997 school year, JEDI was the first school of its kind in the state of Wisconsin. Since the inception of online education, JEDI has grown and evolved to meet the needs of students with the increasing technology that is available. JEDI has the ability to offer the benefits of both the brick-and-mortar and online learning environments through relationships with its consortium districts and a variety of online courses to lead students to academic success.

JEDI's focus on personalized attention to students is paramount and is evidenced through multiple layers of communication. Full-time online students have highly qualified, certified teachers to assist with them on the curriculum in their courses. They are also assigned Learning Coaches to help pace their classes and monitor their achievements. Finally, they are appointed a Student Services Coordinator to oversee their schedule of courses, monitor their grades and attendance, and help to make schedule adjustments to assure the best learning environment possible.

JEDI uses rolling enrollment, which allows students to schedule their classes in a variety of ways, ranging from a traditional semester schedule, to block scheduling, to a unique offering specific to your child’s learning style. The school format provides learners the flexibility to go to school anytime and virtually anywhere they can access the Internet. They are also able to utilize resources in their district buildings, if they choose, including WIAA sports.
