2020 Graduation

During the June 17, 2020 Luxemburg-Casco School Board meeting, the board voted to change the time of the 2020 graduation ceremony from 6:00pm to 1:00pm. The date and location of the ceremony remains the same, August 2, 2020 on the Luxemburg-Casco football field. This change was made when the district became aware that the local racetrack has events scheduled at the same time. It is the school board's wishes to provide our graduates and their families with a memorable experience and that would be difficult with the potential noise generated by the race cars. The district continues to work with guidance from the county health department as we work to finalize plans. We will be sending out a mailing to all graduates with more details in the near future.

Luxemburg-Casco High School Graduation
Sunday, August 2, 2020 @ 1:00PM
L-C Football Field

A graduation invite has been mailed to all of the graduates that includes the date, time and location of our ceremony. It also included a link where the graduates can request tickets for parents/guardians only to attend the ceremony. The parent/guardian tickets are good for both an outdoor or indoor ceremony.

Additional tickets will be made available July 20th depending on the COVID numbers and recommendations from the county. If possible we will expand the ticket number for each family up to 4 total tickets by including special guest tickets.(Special guest tickets are good for an outdoor ceremony only because of the limited ability to social distance if the ceremony needs to be moved inside. Families will not have to request special guest tickets, they will automatically be figured in with each family's maximum total of 4 tickets and mailed to the graduates July 20th.

The graduates will sit on the field or gym floor with the proper amount of spacing. For parents and (if possible) special guests, we will arrange the chairs in pairs 6 feet apart or marked off paired seating in the beachers 6 feet apart. This will help maintain social distancing.

The ceremony will be live streamed for all other individuals who are unable to attend in person.

Masks - If the ceremony is outside we would encourage people to have masks, but the heat could be a factor. We would still require the graduates to wear a mask when they go up for their diploma. They could remove it when they move the tassel over and before the graduation photo.

If the ceremony is inside we may need to require the use of a mask for everyone.

There is also a virtual version of graduation in the works, just in case the COVID pandemic would force the cancelation of any face to face meeting.

Check back throughout the summer for additional details on 2020 Graduation.
