LUXEMBURG, Wis. – Luxemburg-Casco High School has graduated its 2020 class, comprised of 141 students. Students last week were mailed their diplomas.

An outdoor, in-person ceremony is planned for Sunday, August 2, at the L-C Sports Complex. Should recommendations for safety not allow an in-person event at that time, a ceremony which blends a virtual graduation with a drive-through presentation of diplomas will be held.

Luke Larson, son of Ron and Lisa Larson of Luxemburg, is the valedictorian of the Class of 2020. Natalie Haen, daughter of Jason and Joan Haen of Luxemburg, is the salutatorian.

The motto of the 2020 class is, “It is what it is.”

“The Class of 2020 always will hold a special place in the history of Luxemburg-Casco High School,” says Principal Troy Haws. “The perseverance that this year’s seniors demonstrated, having to switch to online learning midway through their final semester, was impressive. That level of determination will serve them well as they move into the next chapter of their lives. We wish them great success in the years ahead. They always will be Spartans!”

Forty-nine percent (69 students) of this year’s graduating class plan to continue their education at a four-year post-secondary institution. Fifty-seven of those students will remain in the state for their college experience, including 51 at University of Wisconsin System universities. UW-Green Bay is the top choice among 2020 L-C graduates with 17 choosing the school.

Twenty-nine percent (41 students) of the L-C Class of 2020 will be furthering their education at a state technical college. The majority of those students – 39 – have chosen to attend Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.

Fourteen 2020 students plan to enter the workforce upon graduation, while three have elected military service.
